Ngumpan Community

Ngumpan is situated less than 1km from the Great Northern Highway and has a population of approximately 40 people. The new Ngurra Art Centre is based there and it will become the focus of additional infrastructure work including construction of a corroboree ground and preparation of a camping ground for tourists. Art specialists visit the community regularly to support the production of fine art which will be used to stock the new Centre. Women of Ngumpan have also established a soap making facility and seed jewellery making. There is donga style accommodation in Ngumpan which is available at a reasonable price for anyone that may be visiting Kurungal Communities.
